Couple of weeks ago the American Thoracic Society conducted its 2022 annual international conference where leaders in pulmonary critical care and sleep medicine and respiratory therapy meet. He had several abstracts that were accepted for presentation at ATS2022 conference. All of these abstracts were conducted as part of the Master of Science in Respiratory Care program at Loma Linda University. Students in the MSRC program were mentored by Dr Alismail in all these projects. Below you can find a link and description of each project:
Evaluation of Cognitive Load, Emotional Level, and Stress Level in Tracheostomy Suctioning Among Healthcare Students: Wearable Vs Standard Manikin
In this project, Dr Alismail and his student Kevin Lumowa evaluated the effectiveness of a new modality in simulation and it’s effect of students cognitive load, stress and emotion level during a tracheostomy suction procedure. They compared two different manikins. The first one is a standard high fidelity manikin and the second one is a wearable manikin by Avkin.com . The study found interested results and is currently in its final stages of completion to be submitted as a whole manuscript. Behavioral Impact on E-cig/Vape Use AfteraBrief 15-minute Education
In this study, Arshdeep Kandhola -an MSRC student of Dr Alismail research group reported how effective would a 15 min education session would be among those who vape.
