
Abdullah Alismail, was the Program Director for the Entry-Level Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Care & Master of Science in Respiratory Care Program- Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences, School of Allied Health Professions, Loma Linda University. He worked in these positions from 2014 to 2025. Dr. Alismail is also a member of the Faculty of Graduate Studies in LLU. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care and Master of Science in Health Professions Education from Loma Linda University. He also earned both his Master of Arts degree and Ph.D from Claremont Graduate University. His work in pulmonary and Chest medicine has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). He has also been inducted as a Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care (FAARC) for his contribution and leadership to the profession of respiratory care. In addition, he is also a Fellow for the American Thoracic Society (ATSF) due to his leadership in the field. Dr Alismail is a reviewer in many scholarly journals such as: PLoS One, Annals of Internal Medicine, CHEST, Respiratory Care, and others. He is also an associate editor for two journals: 1) BMC Pulmonary Medicine Journal and 2) BMC Medical Education Journal and editorial board member in ATS Scholar Journal.
As an educator, his passion and interest are in health professions education, clinical studies, and innovation. He was also part of the California state and national champion team of the 2011 Sputum Bowl competition in Respiratory Care at the AARC. He published various scholarly articles (click here to view the articles) in Respiratory Care, Pulmonary Medicine, Medical Education, and Innovation.
Dr. Alismail serves as a committee member in several professional societies such as CoBGRTE, CHEST, and ATS.
Dr. Alismail enjoys traveling, sports, and reading about the history of civilizations, philosophy, cultures, Arabic Poetry, and comparative religions.
